PNP COVID-19 cases climb to 105 with 7 new infections


The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday reported seven more coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, bringing the total number of infected police officers to 105.

According to PNP Health Service (PNPHS) director Police Brigadier General Herminio Tadeo Jr., 17 of the cases have already recovered while three succumbed to the virus.

Meanwhile, there were still 85 active cases undergoing supportive health care, 370 PNP personnel categorized as probable persons under investigation (PUI), and 374 personnel who were suspected PUIs.

A total of 1,013 personnel, of which 326 were probable PUIs, 685 were suspected PUIs, and two were confirmed cases, have completed self or home quarantine.

The nationwide tally of confirmed cases climbed to 8,928 on Saturday with 1,124 recoveries and 603 fatalities.

The latest PNP COVID-19 patients were:

  • Patient 99 is a 45-year-old female from Cavite.
  • Patient 100 is a 31-year-old female officer from Rizal.
  • Patient 101 is a 48-year-old male officer from Demang Sagada.
  • Patient 102 is a 27-year-old female officer from Quezon City.
  • Patient 103 is a 43-year-old male officer from Iloilo.
  • Patient 104 is a 35-year-old male officer from Laguna.
  • Patient 105 is a 29-year-old female office from Laguna.
