Number of COVID-infected PNP personnel reaches 109


The number of personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) who got infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) increased to 109.

According to PNP Health Service director Police Brigadier General Herminio Tadeo Jr. on Monday, the new cases include a 35-year-old female, a 32-year-old male, a 39-year-old female and a 45-year-old male, who were all assigned in Metro Manila.

Tadeo said of the total number of positive cases, 17 personnel already recovered while the number of fatalities was still three.

Tadeo added that a total of 369 PNP personnel were categorized as probable persons under investigation (PUI) while 375 were listed as suspected PUIs.

At present, a total of 37 PNP personnel, listed as PUIs, were isolated at the Kiangan Billeting Center inside Camp Crame, while Spring Hotel in Cubao, Quezon City has accommodated a total of 33 personnel.

The PNP has also opened its Taekwondo quarters for probable and suspected cases of COVID-19. A total of five personnel were staying in the said quarters. --Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
