Several transmission lines down due to Ambo


Several power transmissions and distribution utilities were knocked down as Typhoon Ambo lashed parts of Eastern Visayas and Southern Luzon.

According to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines, the following are unavailable:

South Luzon
  • Sorsogon - Bulan 69 kilovolt (kV) line

Meanwhile, the Calbayog-Palanas Cara 69kV Line, which tripped on May 14 at 5:43 PM affecting SAMELCO I has been restored on May 15 at 10:27 AM.

“There is also one 230kV line which is unavailable,” NGCP said.

Inspection and restoration of lines in the affected areas will be in full swing as soon as the weather allows, the power grid operator said.

“Please note that loss of power may be caused by affected transmission facilities of NGCP or distribution facilities of local distribution utilities or electric cooperatives,” it said.—AOL/LDF, GMA News
