COVID-19 cases among health care workers climb to 2,245 but almost 800 have recovered -DOH


A total of 779 health care workers in the country have already survived the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Department of Health (DOH) announced Friday.

The DOH also reported that 2,245 health workers have tested positive for the virus as of Thursday, composed of 812 nurses, 660 physicians, 137 nursing assistants, 81 medical technologists, 42 radiologic technologists, and 260 non-medical staff.

"Nitong mga nakaraang araw ay paonti na ng paonti ang nakikita nating mga health care workers na nag-positbo," Health undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a live briefing.

Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 35 with no new fatalities reported.

According to the DOH, there are 1,431 active cases.

Of these, 1,027 or 71.77% are mild cases, 398 or 27.81% are asymptomatic cases, 5  are severe cases, and one is in critical condition.

The Philippines has so far reported a total of 12,091 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 2,460 recoveries and 806 fatalities on Friday. -MDM, GMA News
