PNP's Gamboa announces resumption of police recruitment operations

Philippine National Police chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa announced on Friday that the police organization's Recruitment and Selection Service (RSS) would resume its operations next week.

"I am pleased to announce that the PNP Recruitment and Selection Service (RSS) will resume processing of applications for recruitment to fill existing vacancies for recruitment, lateral entry, and cadetship program," Gamboa said at a virtual press briefing.

Aside from the resumption of recruitment operations, Gamboa also announced that the PNP was following the "new normal" trend by introducing innovations in systems and procedures in their law enforcement methods.

"Complementing the focus on public safety, law enforcement, and internal security functions will take the most part of police operations with greater attention to government flagship campaigns against crime, illegal drugs, and corruption," he explained.

Thus, Gamboa had approved the operation of the "One Network Project" of the Directorate for Information and Communication Technology Management to establish network connections from the national headquarters to police regional offices.

"It will be used as a highway where the audio, video, and data communication of the PNP will pass through," Gamboa said.

"The email system will be used to provide all PNP Units/Offices and Personnel (uniformed and non-uniformed) official email addresses which will be utilized in PNP transactions especially in frontline regulatory services of FEO, SOSIA, HPG-MVCO, and police stations," he said. — DVM, GMA News
