BOC turns over seized weapons, accessories to PNP

The Bureau of Customs' Port of Clark office announced on Saturday that they had turned over forfeited and abandoned shipments of firearms and accessories to the Philippine National Police.

Among the items that were turned over were 17 riflescopes, four front and four rear sights, telescopic sights, an airsoft knights SR-16 Carbine, 10 Kevlar helmets, breastplates, eight cans of pellets and a gun magazine, bulletproof vests, and assorted gun parts which are covered by Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) and Abandonment Proceedings (AP).

The items were seized and forfeited for lack of an Authority to Import from the PNP-Firearms and Explosives Office, a violation of Section 117 of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10863 (CMTA) and R.A. No. 10591 or the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.” — DVM, GMA News
