COVID-19 cases in PNP up to 499
The number of police officers who have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has climbed to 499, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Sunday.
Among the confirmed cases, 288 have recovered from the respiratory illness while eight have died, according to the PNP Health Service.
Meanwhile, 661 other cops are probable COVID-19 cases while another 875 are suspected infections.
The Department of Health earlier explained that “suspect” cases are those who have not yet been tested or awaiting their COVID-19 test results, while “probable” cases are those who test results were inconclusive.
The PNP previously said it was fast-tracking the establishment of a testing laboratory for police in the Visayas. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
