Health workers with COVID-19 now at 3,360; recoveries up to 2,515


The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported that the number of healthcare workers who have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) climbed to 3,360 as of June 27.

In its daily COVID-19 report, the DOH said 2,515 of these health workers have recovered from the respiratory illness, while the death toll has remained at 33 since June 10.

The other 812 medical workers are active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.

The five medical professions with the highest number of COVID-19 cases are nurses with 1,207 infections, doctors with 842, nursing assistants with 230, medical technologists with 135, and radiologic technologists with 69 cases.

The Philippines has logged 35,455 COVID-19 cases with 9,686 recoveries and 1,244 deaths as of Sunday afternoon. — DVM, GMA News
