Some stranded passengers at North Harbor allowed to board ships

The North Port Passenger Terminal in North Harbor, Manila finally allowed Monday morning some of the stranded passengers, who slept outside its gate, to enter the premises and board their ships, GMA’s Unang Balita reported.

In his report, GMA’s Jonathan Andal said locally stranded individuals who are scheduled to go to Dumaguete and Zamboanga were the first allowed to enter even without a negative swab test result.

The passengers just need to present their tickets, travel pass, and their negative rapid test result.

"'Yung ibang byahe, hintay hintay lang po," the guards told the stranded passengers.

Some of the passengers went to North Harbor as early as Saturday for their schedule  trip but it was cancelled and they were barred from entering the premises because they do not have a PCR or swab test.

They said they were told about the new requirement only on Saturday. They said they have already secured a travel pass and a negative rapid test result before they went to the port.

The passengers said they no longer have money to pay for a swab test and to return to their homes so they decided to just sleep outside North Harbor.

In its Facebook page, 2Go made the announcement Friday night.
