Duterte to announce quarantine classifications on Tuesday –Palace

President Rodrigo Duterte will announce on Tuesday the quarantine classifications that will be implemented starting next month, Malacañang said Monday.

“I’ll let you know. But if I’m not mistaken, it will be tomorrow,” Duterte’s spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing.

No areas in the Philippines will transition to new normal in the coming days after the government’s COVID-19 task force decided last week that the country will remain under community quarantine to slow the spread of the virus.

At present, only Cebu City is under enhanced community quarantine while its neighboring city of Talisay is under modified ECQ. The rest of the country is either under general community quarantine or modified GCQ.

The Philippines has so far reported 35,455 cases, with 9,686 recoveries and 1,244 deaths. —Virgil Lopez/KBK, GMA News
