PNP records 38 more COVID-19 cases; total now at 899


The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday recorded 38 additional coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases among its personnel, bringing the total to 899.

According to the PNP, total recoveries increased to 409 after two more patients recovered from the viral disease, while the death toll within the PNP remained at nine.

As of 6 p.m. of July 5, there were 1,148 suspected COVID-19 cases and 726 probable cases.

Moreover, the PNP urged its employees experiencing symptoms similar to COVID-19 to contact to its health service.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 ballooned to 44,254 on Sunday, with 1,297 fatalities and 11,942 recoveries. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
