MPD secures NBI HQ for arrival of 9 cops involved in Jolo incident
Elements form the the Manila Police District Command secure the vicinity of the National Bureau of Investigation headquarters along Taft Avenue in Manila on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 for the nine members of the Jolo PNP involved in the slay of four Army soldiers in a supposed shooting incident on June 9, 2020 in Sulu.
PNP spokesman Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac on Tuesday said the nine Jolo cops were set to appear before the National Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday.
According to Banac, the cops will still be under the custody of Camp Crame.
Wednesday's appearance of the Jolo police officers at the NBI was part of the preliminary probe into the Jolo incident that the Army considered as a "robout," with the Jolo police insisting that it was a shooting incident.
The NBI has been tasked to conduct a thorough investigation into the case. —with a report from Danny Pata/LBG, GMA News
