No media allowed inside House during Duterte’s SONA —PCOO

Members of the media will not be allowed inside the House of Representatives during President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address on July 27 as per recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

In an advisory on Monday, the Presidential Communications Operations Office said only the Presidential Broadcast Staff-Radio Television Malacañang will be allowed inside the House to cover the SONA.

All broadcast-related requirements will be coursed through the RTVM, it added.

The PCOO advised all members of the media to hook up to the live feed of PTV or the livestream of the PCOO and RTVM Facebook pages and the RTVM YouTube channel.

Earlier, Malacañang said Duterte will be at the Batasang Pambansa to physically deliver his SONA.

The Palace earlier explored the option of an online SONA in which Duterte will address the nation from the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañang.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said a total of 50 lawmakers will be allowed inside the venue. He could not say how many Cabinet officials will be permitted to attend. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
