NBI official tests positive for COVID-19
An official of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) tested positive for COVID-19, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra confirmed Thursday.
Guevarra said the official, who was not identified, is now in quarantine.
"They have already taken the necessary precautions, including a temporary shutdown, contact tracing, and self-quarantines," he said in a message to reporters.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) earlier said the NBI was on lockdown for disinfection from July 22 to 26 as a preventive measure against COVID-19.
The NBI is an attached agency of the DOJ.
