PNP acquires 50 light transport vehicles

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday acquired a total of 50 light transport vehicles which will be used for administrative purposes.

Outgoing PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa graced the blessing and turnover ceremony of newly-procured units of light transport vehicles in Camp Crame.

According to Director of Comptrollership Police Major General Marni Marcos, the new vehicles amounted to P64,555,000, which was sourced from the Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) 2020.

Marcos said the new mobility assets would be distributed to the Command Group, D-Staff, National Support Units, Office of the Secretary of Interior and Local Government, PNP Peace Process and Development Center, Philippine National Police Academy, and the Philippine National Police Training Institute to boost its administrative capabilities.

Gamboa, meanwhile, said the latest assets are also part of the continuing effort of the PNP leadership and the national government to enhance the modernization program of the police force.

"Kasi dapat may staff car ka talaga eh and then to the separate units also, bigyan naman natin ng dignity 'yung mga directors lalo na NPTI and PNPA who are actually new units of the PNP. Bibigyan din natin for their directors," he said. —KG, GMA News
