No major revamp within PNP, Cascolan says

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan on Friday said he would not enforce a major reorganization within the police force under his leadership.

At the Laging Handa press briefing, Cascolan was asked what are the major changes that he would implement as he now leads the police organization.

"Kailangan po nating ilagay ang tamang tao sa mga tamang posisyon. Nandoon naman na ho tayo. There is no... I am not expecting, you are not expecting any kind of major revamp considering that the people who are in position right now are the one whom we can really trust," Cascolan said.

On Thursday, there had been a movement within the designation of police officials due to Cascolan's assumption as PNP chief.

Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar was named as the PNP Deputy Chief for Administration while Police Lieutenant General Cesar Hawthorne Binag was named the PNP Deputy chief for Operations.

Meanwhile, Police Major General Joselito Vera Cruz was designated as the Chief Directorial Staff.

Cascolan had promised to work hard to restore the public's trust and respect for the PNP.

He said he would improve the image of the police by letting them attend seminars and by evaluating each police unit and each police officer.
