PNP to continue adjudication process on ‘narco cops,’ says Cascolan

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will continue its adjudication process on policemen allegedly involved in illegal drugs, its chief, Police General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, said on Monday.

"Adjudication is continuing. It will be evaluated periodically and we will do that to those who were not cleared but even to those who have been cleared earlier," Cascolan said at a press briefing.

Cascolan said of the 357 policemen included in the drug watchlist, a total of 122 cops have been removed, 229 are retained and six others already died.

"You know we have formed actually a monitoring team, it's called the monitoring and evaluation team... we want to be just and fair to everybody, kahit naadjudicate kita ngayon, we will continue to adjudicate and evaluate you," Cascolan said.

"We will continue to monitor each one of you not only those who are involved in this list but all PNP personnel in our organization, we have to monitor them," he added.

The validation process on the list includes adjudication at the regional and directorial level for one week. After this, the National Adjudication Board will handle the cases and will later endorse it to the PNP chief.

"Ang amin lang we will continue to adjudicate, of course the adjudication will be taken part by the command group. Ako mag-supervise na rin ako... marami masyado eh but we will continue to do that," Cascolan said.

Former PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa had said the recommendation on the first batch of narco cops was already submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte. — RSJ, GMA News
