Majority of Filipinos should have national ID by 2022 —DILG

Majority of Filipinos should have national ID by 2022 —DILG spokesman

By 2022, majority of Filipinos should have the national ID, the spokesman for the Department of the Interior and Local Government said on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Malaya disclosed the more than 30 provinces across the country that will be prioritized in the rollout of the national ID in October.

He said these provinces are already in coordination with the Philippine Statistics Authority as well as with the DILG regional offices to ensure that the pre-registration process would be safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The national ID system seeks to harmonize, integrate, and interconnect the countless and redundant government IDs by establishing a single national identification system.

It will include the PhilSys number, full name, facial image, sex, date of birth, blood type, and address of the concerned individual. —LBG, GMA News
