COVID-19 tally within the PNP nears 6K as 61 more test positive

The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases within the Philippine National Police (PNP) reached 5,990 on Wednesday with 61 more personnel testing positive for the illness.

Latest data from the PNP showed that total recoveries also climbed to 4,784 after 75 police officers defeated the viral disease.

The death toll, meanwhile, remained at 17.

So far, there are 1,189 active COVID-19 cases within the police organization.

Cases of COVID-19 nationwide also rose to 311,694 on Wednesday including 5,504 deaths and 253,488 recoveries. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
