Magicians launch online competition to raise funds for frontliners

A group of magicians in the country launched an online competition to raise money for frontliners amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras” on Monday, the Inner Magic Club of the Philippines was able to help out various hospitals such as the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City.

“During this time sa pandemic, maraming Pilipino ang naghihirap lalo na sa sakit, sa virus na nangyayari sa atin ngayon kaya naman naisip ng grupo na magbigay ng kasiyahan sa mga tao, at the same time, makahingi ng tulong para sa mga pasyente ng COVID-19,” James Cuervas, organizer and vice president of the Inner Magic Club, said.

Alfonso Abejuela, 27, and Gerald Espiritu, 24, were hailed winners of the online magic competition.

For Espiritu, the competition was a big achievement as he was able to help the country’s medical workers who are at the frontline in the country’s battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, EAMC thanked the Inner Magic Club for their generosity.

— Ma. Angelica Garcia/DVM, GMA News
