74 more PNP personnel test positive for COVID-19

The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections within the Philippine National Police (PNP) reached 6,904 on Wednesday after 74 more employees tested positive for the illness.

According to the PNP, total recoveries also rose to 6,240 after 77 additional police officers defeated the viral disease.

The death toll, meanwhile, remained at 21.

So far, there are 643 active COVID-19 cases within the police organization.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 leapt to 362,243 on Wednesday including 6,747  fatalities and 311,506 recoveries.

The other 43,990 are active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine, 83 percent of which are mild, 11.6 percent are asymptomatic, 2 percent are severe, and 3.4 percent are in critical condition. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
