Kabataan solon reports 'death threat' from police Facebook page

Kabataan Representative Sarah Elago called out a supposed death threat against her, which was posted on a Facebook page of Surigao del Sur's Cantilan Municipal Police Station’s police community relations office.

In a tweet on Sunday, Elago posted a screenshot of the poster, saying that she is reporting a death threat to the Philippine National National (PNP).

“’Have a nice trip’ with my name in a bloody font! Reporting this death threat from PNP to PNP,” Elago said.

The lawmaker mentioned the PNP’s Public Information Office, the National Bureau of Investigation, and the Commission on Human Rights in her tweet.

Based on Elago’s screenshot, the poster was posted by Facebook page “Cantilan Pcr Mps” or the Police Community Relations Office of Cantilan Municipal Police Station.

The poster read: “Have a nice trip Sarah because terrorists will never win. This is the end of their youth deception.”

Elago’s image was edited to replace the face of actor Seth Rogen in the movie poster of 2013 film "This Is The End," where he was holding on the edge of a deep hole.

However, the link to the Facebook post was already unavailable as of this posting.

GMA News Online reached out to the PNP and the concerned police station and office, but has yet to get an answer.

A Senate committee hearing is currently being conducted regarding the alleged red-tagging of some groups and personalities perpetrated by some state security forces officials.

Members of the Makabayan bloc in the House of Representatives on Tuesday skipped the committee's hearing and encouraged them to just file a case against their groups.

On Sunday, National Union of Peoples Lawyers chairperson Neri Colmenares challenged their accusers to take the matter to the courts instead of discussing it in a public debate through social media, where allegations can be made without evidence. —LBG, GMA News
