Duterte to visit Cagayan on Sunday

President Rodrigo Duterte will visit the severely flooded province of Cagayan on Sunday.

Large portions of Cagayan and Isabela are submerged, blamed mostly on the release of water from Magat Dam following the heavy rains brought by typhoon Ulysses.

Frantic pleas for help from residents have mobilized the public, organizations, the private sector, and the military to provide aid to the northern provinces since Friday.

In a statement on Saturday, Duterte also said that there are enough troops will be deployed to help in rescue efforts.
