IATF prohibits expansion of accessory activities in golf clubs

The government’s COVID-19 task force has prohibited the expansion of accessory activities in golf clubs to prevent the spread of the virus.

In a resolution approved on Thursday, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) directed the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) “to cease and desist in the expansion of permissible accessory activities in golf clubs such as the reopening of locker rooms for golfers, among others.”

The IATF made the decision pending the review, amendment, modification, or approval of health protocols by the appropriate government agencies.

The policy-making body also directed the NGAP to submit its proposed protocols for golf to the Department of Health and the Department of Labor and Employment for vetting.
