Malacañang on Monday identified the priority areas for COVID-19 vaccination, which is expected to begin this year.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said these areas would be prioritized due to high prevalence of COVID-19.

  • National Capital Region
  • Cordillera Administrative Region
  • Region XI (including Davao City)
  • Region IV-A (Calabarzon)
  • Cebu City

The priority groups include frontline health workers, indigent senior citizens, the rest of the indigent population, and uniformed personnel.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said last week that the Philippines aims to vaccinate 50 to 70 million Filipinos against COVID-19 in 2021.
