Philippines gets more C-130H from US

The United States government, through the Security Cooperation Assistance, granted a C-130H aircraft to the Philippine Air Force (PAF).

In a statement on Friday, PAF said the C-130H Nr 5125 is the first one of the two C-130H aircrafts granted by the US government.

PAF said the aircraft will provide enhanced capability in terms of heavy airlift missions to support movement of troops and cargoes during territorial defense security and stability and humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.

Air Force officials welcomed the aircraft in a simple arrival ceremony at the Base Operations, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City on Friday.

Immediately upon its arrival, PAF rendered a welcome water salute to the aircraft as a customary tradition.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
