Galvez says supply agreements for 5 COVID-19 vaccines to be finished by end of February

Galvez says supply agreements for 5 COVID-19 vaccines to be finished by end of February

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. on Tuesday said the Philippine government will accomplish the supply agreements for five COVID-19 vaccines products by the end of February.

At the Laging Handa briefing, Galvez said he cannot divulge yet the brands of these COVID-19 vaccines in compliance with a confidential disclosure agreement.

“Sa ngayon po, ang supply agreement na inaayos po natin [ay] 'yung sa lima. We are on the advanced stage already on the negotiation,” he said.

“We are expecting this coming end of month of February ay matapos na lahat ng details ng supply agreement,” he added.

On Monday, Galvez said the country has locked in 106 to 108 million doses of coronavirus vaccines after he signed five term sheets with manufacturers.

Included in the terms of supply agreements are the mode of payments and delivery schedules, the vaccine czar said.

“Ito po 'yung tinatawag natin talagang head of terms na ito na po 'yung tunay na kung kailan po tayo magbabayad. At anong araw o quarter magkakaroon ng delivery,” he said.

Galvez earlier said they are targeting to secure all term sheets and supply agreements on COVID-19 vaccines before the end of January or on the first week of February.

The Philippine government aims to secure around 148 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to inoculate some 50 to 70 million Filipinos this year. —KG/RSJ, GMA News
