Husband said goodbye night before death –Raymond Dominguez widow

The widow of convicted car theft gang leader Raymond Dominguez said her husband called her and said goodbye the night before he was found dead in prison.

In Marisol Abdurahman’s Friday report on “24 Oras,” Mae Dominguez claimed her husband was expecting his death.

“Kausap ko siya kagabi. Sinabi niya sa akin na ganyan na nga ‘yung mangyayari. Nag papaalam na po siya sa akin,” Mae said.

Dominguez was found lifeless in his cell at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City at 6:20 a.m. Friday.

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCoR) said Dominguez seemingly died of natural causes, though his death was being investigated and his body would be autopsied.

Mae, however, did not believe that her husband died of natural causes.

“Ever since hindi ako naniwala… kilala ko ‘yung asawa ko. Wala siyang sakit. Wala siyang sakit. Ang lakas-lakas niya nung kausap ko siya,” Mae said.

In July 2020, the BuCor confirmed that Dominguez was positive for the coronavirus disease 2019.

Meanwhile, the New Bilibid Prison said seven inmates had died within the last 24 hours: three died at the maximum security compound, including Dominguez; and four expired at the minimum security compound. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
