3 out of 10 PNP personnel reluctant to get vaccinated vs. COVID-19
Three out of ten Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel are reluctant to get vaccinated against COVID-19, PNP Deputy Chief for Administration Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar said.
In a press conference on Monday, Eleazar said 153, 696 or 70.14% of PNP personnel were willing to get inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines.
“Out of the 219,130 personnel, ito pa ‘yung hesisant magpabakuna, 65,434, which 29.86%,” Eleazar said.
“Meaning na-raise na po namin ‘yung 70% na gustong pagpabakuna. At kung ibabawas natin ‘yun sa total personnel natin, we have 153, 696 na willing na magpabakuna, which is 70.14%,” he added.
Eleazar expressed optimism that the number of personnel who were open to get vaccinated would improve.
During the press conference, PNP chief Police General Debold Sinas said he was willing to get vaccinated in public. “I will have myself vaccinated in public.”
Earlier, the Department of Health said the priority groups in the vaccination include frontline health workers, indigent senior citizens, remaining senior citizens, remaining indigent population, and uniformed personnel. -NB, GMA News
