Mike Defensor says he tested positive for COVID-19

Anakalusugan party-list Representative Mike Defensor on Tuesday said he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Defensor said he got infected two weeks ago and that he will have his final COVID-19 test by tomorrow, Wednesday. He is currently in isolation.

"Even while practicing health protocols, nag-positive ako sa COVID-19 along with 7 people in my house, including my son-in-law," he said.

"Patapos na, bukas final test..." Defensor said in a message.

Asked if he is asymptomatic, Defensor said, "I guess so. Everything's normal. Parang one day lang ako nagka-flu."

"We quarantined and took medicine and vitamins, and have been isolating ourselves in our rooms. Thankfully, we’re all recovering now. I’m waiting for a negative swab test to confirm my full recovery," he said.

On Monday night, Negros Oriental Representative Jocelyn Sy Limkaichong also announced that she tested positive for COVID-19. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ/LDF GMA News
