Leni Robredo meets US officials to discuss livelihood projects

Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday met with the officials from the United States Embassy in Manila and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to discuss possible collaboration on livelihood programs.

“Productive meeting with USAID and the US Embassy led by Chargé d’Affaires John Law and USAID Mission Director Lawrence Hardy today,” Robredo posted on Facebook.

“We presented to them our Sustainable Livelihood and Training Program to discuss opportunities for collaboration to help more of our kababayans who are greatly affected by the pandemic,” she added.

Robredo recalled the last time that her office presented about education initiatives to the USAID, a project that will cater the disadvantaged youth was launched.

“This gave rise to TRABAHOPE, our partnership with USAID and the Philippine Business for Education where we are training 1000 out-of-school youth and linking them up with companies under the apprenticeship programs,” the vice president said.

In October 2020, the Office of the Vice President has launched this P17-million partnership to offer technical-vocational skills and employability training to 1,000 unemployed and out-of-school youth. —NB, GMA News
