Palace: Message from God will make Duterte run for VP in Eleksyon 2022

President Rodrigo Duterte will run for Vice President in next year’s polls if he receives a message from God, Malacañang said Monday. 

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque made the response when asked what would make Duterte run for the second highest elective post in the country in the May 9, 2022 polls.

“A message from God because he said he leaves it to God,” Roque said in a Palace briefing.

Roque then said that Duterte will make the announcement at the proper time. 

“If it is God’s will, he will make the proper announcement in due course,” Roque added. 

Duterte’s vice presidential run was broached by Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, who said the President should serve as the running mate of his daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. 

Mayor Sara emerged as the lead choice of respondents in the pre-election survey conducted by Pulse Asia earlier this year. —KG, GMA News
