Peter Lim on INTERPOL red notice since March 2019 —Guevarra

Businessman Peter Lim has been the subject of an international manhunt since March 2019, months after a Makati court ordered him arrested for a drug case, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Tuesday.

Guevarra cited information from the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime that Lim is on the red notice list of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL). A person under a red notice is considered a fugitive, according to the INTERPOL.

Lim’s whereabouts are still unknown even after Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said over the weekend that the businessman, who was ordered arrested in August 2018 due to a case for conspiracy to commit illegal drug trading, could have already left the country.

On Monday, the Bureau of Immigration said there is no record indicating that Lim has recently left the Philippines.

Lim’s passport expired in 2019 and his last foreign trip was in 2017, the Department of Justice said.  -MDM, GMA News
