Lacson, Sotto start ‘Luzon consultative tour’ ahead of Eleksyon 2022

Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Thursday started their “Luzon consultative tour” in Malolos, Bulacan ahead of next year’s national elections.

Lacson and Sotto, who already announced that they are studying plans to run for president and vice president, respectively, went to the historical Barasoain Church before they held consultations with the local officials of Malolos.

“Kanina sa Barasoain, Nuestra Senora Del Carmel Church Malolos. Started our journey for Luzon consultative tour with a prayer. Besides I go to church everyday anyway,” Sotto told reporters when asked about their photo inside the church that was posted on Sotto’s Facebook account.

According to Sotto, their Luzon consultative tour is intended to get updates on the status of the local government units, check the COVID-19 situation in various localities, and gather suggestions for the post-COVID-19 recovery plan of the country.

Sotto has yet to respond whether they will also conduct consultative tours in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Earlier, Sotto said he will be Lacson’s running mate if the latter decides to seek the country’s highest elected post.

Lacson confirmed this, saying it is already “cast in stone” that Sotto will be his running mate if he will run for presidency.

But Lacson maintained that he is still “processing very carefully” if he will gun for the top elective post. — RSJ, GMA News
