DOH: Over 3.5 million fully vaccinated vs COVID-19


The Philippines has fully vaccinated over 3.5 million individuals against COVID-19 as of July 11, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday.

In a Laging Handa briefing, Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said 13,196,282 doses were administered nationwide.

A total of 9,669,940 individuals have gotten at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, 3,526,342 of whom are now fully inoculated.

Among those who have received partial protection, 1,575,936 are health workers, 209,193 are outbound OFWs or relatives of health workers, 2,655,403 are senior citizens, 3,232,278 are persons with comorbidities, 1,689,680 are essential workers, and 307,450 are poor Filipinos.

Out of those who have been fully vaccinated, 1,174,658 are health workers, 34,009 are outbound OFWs or relatives of health workers, 915,593 are senior citizens, 1,140,537 are persons with comorbidities, 191,851 are essential workers, and 69,694 are indigents.

The government aims to vaccinate 1,626,495 health workers, 8,559,688 senior citizens, 7,085,183 persons with comorbidities, 29,747,000 essential workers, and 12,911,193 poor Filipinos.

The Philippines seeks to inoculate a total of 50 million to 70 million people this year.

The country has logged over 1.47 million COVID-19 cases with 1.39 million recoveries and 25,921 deaths as of Sunday afternoon.  — DVM, GMA News
