Isko Moreno twits politicians making the rounds

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno on Thursday expressed his disapproval of politicians who have begun to make the rounds and form partnerships for the upcoming elections.

In Mariz Umali’s report on 24 Oras, Moreno said he is still pondering choices to be made for Eleksyon 2022.

“Come October decisions will be made… mag mumuni-muni ako kung ano man ‘yan. Hindi nag iikot-ikot kung kani-kaninong politiko or partido and so on and so forth,” Moreno said.

(Decisions will be made come October… I’m just going to think about it. I won’t go around to whichever politicians and parties and so on and so forth.)

“This is not the right time for taking pictures, aligning, partnership with politicians. Kasi ‘yung mga politiko sila-sila lang naman nakikinabangan diyan. Wala naman kapakinabangan ‘yang mga political alliances for now,” he added.

Meanwhile, Moreno thanked retired Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio for his remark that 1Sambayan remains open for the mayor should he decide to join the coalition.

The mayor also thanked the public for his high survey results in the latest polls.

For his part, Carpio said possible candidates may be hesitant to declare their intention to run due to fear of attacks from trolls.

Moreno, however, said he was not afraid.

“Hindi ako takot kahit kanino. Hindi ako maduduro ng nino man because this is public service. This is not about ownership from one owner passed to the, you know, tagapagmana. I’m not afraid of anyone. I’m afraid of God,” he said.
