MPD stations report 6 active COVID-19 cases among police personnel


Three police stations in Manila have reported a total of six active cases of COVID-19 among their personnel, Manila Police District (MPD) director Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco said on Wednesday.

Francisco told GMA News Online the two new cases were reported in Police Station 12 on Monday.

“Six na today. From one to three to four, hanggang six na ngayon (It’s already six today. From one to three to four, up to six currently),” he said in a text message.

Three of the active cases were from the Station 12 while one case each in Police Station 13, Police Station 12, Police Station 6, and the District Mobile Force Battalion, according to Francisco.

The COVID-19 patients are now under quarantine.

He added that some cops have been identified as contacts of the infected cops. They are still waiting for the results of at least eight COVID-19 tests.

As of Wednesday, Francisco said the MPD recorded 881 cases of COVID-19. At least five cops from the MPD died due to the disease.—AOL, GMA News
