Over P1.48B worth of shabu seized in separate ops; 1 suspect killed, 4 arrested


Authorities seized a total of P1.482 billion worth of suspected shabu in three separate operations in Quezon City, Valenzuela City, and Balagtas, Bulacan on Sunday.

In a statement Monday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said one suspect was killed, while four Chinese nationals were arrested during the anti-drug operations with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

In Quezon City, a buy-bust operation was conducted at Magsaysay street, Barangay San Bartolome in Novaliches, where 127 kilograms of shabu worth P863.6 million was seized.

Arrested suspects were identified as Willie Lu Tan or Chen Bien, Anton Wong or Wang Zhong Chun, and Wang Min.

In Valenzuela City, authorities confiscated more or less 16 kilograms of shabu worth P108.8 million during an operation in front of the China Bank Savings branch along General Luis street in Paso de Blas.

Suspect Joseph Dy was arrested.

Meanwhile in Balagtas, Bulacan, suspect Wu Zishen was killed in a shootout during an operation in Barangay Santol, according to the PNP.

Recovered items were more or less 75 kilograms of shabu worth P510 million and a Colt .45 pistol.

PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said their operations and intelligence gathering will continue to identify the leaders of drug syndicates and arrest other perpetrators.—AOL, GMA News
