Palace appeals for more time to create COVID-19 vaccination database

Malacañang on Monday asked for more time in coming up with a masterlist of Filipinos who already received a COVID-19 vaccine.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the task has been assigned to the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) headed by Secretary and former Senator Gregorio Honasan.

“The masterlist is a project of DICT. We did not expect this pandemic to happen, so we have to make the masterlist as we go along,” Roque said.

“And so we appeal for a little patience. The earlier concerns of people seeking a government certification of vaccination card from a single agency will be addressed by this masterlist from DICT,” Roque added.

Roque said that local government units have been submitting their COVID-19 vaccination data to the DICT as of the moment.

Honasan, for his part, said the LGUs have been submitting such vaccination date to the Vaccine Information Management System.

“The accuracy of data captured in the line list is of utmost importance since it will it make the issuance of vaccination certificates efficient and would be useful for contact-tracing and monitoring of vaccinated individuals,” Honasan said in a separate statement.

Metro Manila Council (MMC) Chairman Mayor Edwin Olivarez of Parañaque, on the other hand, said the masterlist should be out by August.

The same statement provided that such database of vaccinated individuals will be available in the portal and mobile app dubbed as VaxCertPH developed by the DICT for the Department of Health (DOH) for the issuance of digital vaccination certificates for vaccinated individuals in the country.

LGUs who have yet to avail of the D-VAS are encouraged to get in touch with any of the DICT’s regional offices, the DOH, or the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

For more information, LGUs may contact the DICT’s DREAM Team at vims.dvas@dict.gov.ph or vims.support@dict.gov.ph. — BM, GMA News
