Comelec says no notice of award yet to F2 Logistics

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday said it has yet to give notice of award to F2 Logistics, which allegedly has links to Davao-based businessman Dennis Uy, one of the donors of President Rodrigo Duterte's 2016 presidential campaign.

Comelec's Special Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC) declared F2 Logistics as the bidder for the logistics contract for Eleksyon 2022. This covers the deployment of  election equipment, peripherals, forms, supplies, and paraphernalia, and warehousing for next year’s elections.

In a tweet, Comelec spokesman James Jimenez also clarified that the bidding of F2 Logistics was  not to supply election equipment but only to deliver equipment.

"Pagdeliver lang sa kung saan gagamitin ang mga naturang equipt at supplies," said Jimenez.

(They will only deliver such equipment and supplies.)

"Ang 'warehousing' ay kaugnay lamang sa delivery. Ang mga VCM  (vote counting machines) ng COMELEC ay may hiwalay na warehouse,"  he added.

(Warehousing is linked to delivery. VCMs of Comelec are located at a different warehouse.)

Earlier, Comelec Chairman Sheriff Abas said they will investigate concerns on the involvement of Uy to F2 logistics.

"I told our Special BAC to look into that because we have to clarify this, but initially, what I know is that he owns 2GO and not F2," Abas, a Duterte appointee, said in Filipino.—LDF, GMA News
