Guidelines for COVID-19 alert level system out Sept. 13 or 14 –DILG

The guidelines for the new COVID-19 alert level system will be published on Monday-September 13 or Tuesday-September 14, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

To recall, the national government will only enforce two quarantine classifications during the pilot implementation of the alert level system in Metro Manila, which is under a modified enhanced community quarantine until September 15 or until the pilot quarantine with the alert level system is enforced.

DILG spokesman Jonathan Malaya said on Sunday that they were still ironing out some provisions of the alert level system but would soon release the guidelines.

"Baka bukas or Tuesday, ilalabas na ito, after finally maaprubahan ng IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.)," Malaya said on Dobol B TV.

(Maybe tomorrow or Tuesday, it will be released after it will be approved by the IATF.)

Granular lockdown

Meanwhile, Malaya said that those with vaccination schedules but are under a granular lockdown will not be allowed out.

"Hindi muna sila mababakunahan. Magaantay sila until makatapos ang quarantine period and then puwede na sila mabakunahan agad," he said.

(They will not get vaccinated first. They must wait until the quarantine period finishes and then they can get vaccinated.)

They can get vaccinated at a later date through accommodations from their local government units, Malaya added.

"'Yan ang naging arrangement namin with different LGUs. Yung mga hindi nakarating sa previous sched, puwede mag-walk-in."

(Those are the arrangements we made with the different LGUs. Those who were unable to show up for their scheduled vaccination can walk in.)

Malaya also reiterated that authorized persons outside of residences, including essential workers, will not be allowed to go outside if their areas are under an Alert Level 4.

An Alert Level 4 is the highest risk classification, under which dine-in, personal services, and mass gatherings are not allowed.

The DILG spokesman also advised essential workers to go to their relatives until the granular lockdown is lifted. — DVM, GMA News
