Security guard seeking Senate seat wants Camp Aguinaldo dorm for students, jobseekers

Phil Delos Reyes, a security guard who filed his certificate of candidacy for senator, wanted a dormitory to be built inside Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City for students and jobseekers.

He laid down his platforms during the first day of COC filing at the Harbor Garden Tent inside the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila compound in Pasay City.

“Lahat ng problema ng ating bansa ay ating solusyunan, at ating gawan ng batas,” Delos Reyes said in a press conference after the filing of his COC.

(We will legislate measures to address the all the problems in out country.)

“Ito ay maproseso agad sa presidente, mapa-implement at makinabang ang lahat, at ang bawat Pilipino,” he added.

(These laws will be immediately processed and will be sent to the president for implementation so that all Filipinos could benefit from it.)

One of the unique plans that he presented is the free accommodation for those who wanted to apply for jobs and students who are preparing for their examinations.

“Lahat ng applicant for work libre, may dorm sa examinee,” he said, adding that this should be built on the unused lot in Camp Aguinaldo.

(All applicants and students who will take their examinations will have free accommodation.)

Delos Reyes also said he wants to continue what President Rodrigo Duterte has started, especially the fight against drugs, poverty, communist rebels, corruption, and criminality.

His other plans include discounts in water, electricity and internet bills; prisoners’ livelihood; SSS, GSIS, Pag-Ibig benefits to workers such as PUV drivers, barangay tanods, and volunteers in city halls; and training for security personnel like him which will be facilitated by the local government units.

He likewise proposed building huge walls near the rivers across the country to address flooding in the country, especially during the rainy season.

Lastly, Delos Reyes wanted to put all government institutions inside the city or municipal hall compounds.

Apart from Delos Reyes, there are 13 other aspirants who filed their COCs for senator on the first day of the filing period. -NB, GMA News
