Active COVID-19 cases in PNP decreased by 70% in a month

Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday reported that active COVID-19 cases among its police officers nationwide went down by 70% in just a month.

"Kahit sa sitwasyon ng PNP ngayon, patuloy ang pagbababa namin. Ang active case namin is 953. Noong September 17, ang PNP, is 3,214," said PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar over Super Radyo dzBB.

(Even with the situation of the PNP right now, our cases continue to decline. Active cases are at 953. Last September 17, our active cases were at 3,214.)

Eleazar attributed the decline to the vaccination of policemen. As of September 28, the PNP fully vaccinated 74% of its personnel or 164,787 out of 222,743.

Currently, the nation's police force recorded a total of 41,266, including 40,191 recoveries and 122 deaths. — DVM, GMA News
