Bato: No need for comprehensive plan, just vaccinate all Filipinos

Presidential aspirant and Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Wednesday said he will not release a video detailing his plans about the government’s COVID-19 response, saying vaccine is the simplest solution to address the pandemic.

"Hindi naman kailangan pang video-video d'yan. Ang simpleng solusyon diyan is bakunahan natin lahat ng mga Pilipino. Mag-produce tayo ng enough vaccine supplies para mabakunahan ang lahat," he said in a virtual interview when asked about fellow presidential aspirant, Vice President Leni Robredo’s COVID-19 plan which was released Wednesday evening.

(There’s no need for video detailing the COVID-19 plan. The simple solution is to vaccinate all the Filipinos. Let us produce enough vaccine supplies to inoculate everyone.)

"'Yan lang ang nakikita ko. Wala nang maraming pa-ek-ek ek-ek, dahil lahat ng mga solusyon ginagawa ng ating IATF kung ano ang dapat gawin. ‘Yun lang po sa akin, bakunahan lahat ng Pilipino,” he added.

(That is the solution that I see. There’s no need for more suggestions because all the solutions are already imposed by the IATF.)

Dela Rosa was referring to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

On Wednesday evening, Robredo released a three-point COVID-19 pandemic plan dubbed as “Kalayaan sa COVID Plan.”

The Philippines has recorded on Wednesday 1,591 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the total count of virus cases nationwide to 2,793,898.

Last week, Bloomberg reported that the Philippines is still considered as the "worst place to be" during the global health crisis after it ranked last among 53 nations.
