Recommendations for next PNP chief submitted to Duterte —Año

Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año has submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte recommendations to replace Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Guillermo Eleazar, who is retiring this month.

"I already submitted to the President the list of five names recommended to replace General Eleazar upon his retirement," Año said in a message to reporters on Thursday.

The list was submitted on Tuesday, he said.

Eleazar took over the helm of the PNP in May following the retirement of Police General Debold Sinas.

The sixth PNP chief under the Duterte administration, Eleazar will retire on November 13 when he reaches the age of 56. —KBK, GMA News
