2,376 new COVID-19 cases bring Philippines’ active tally to 37K

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday logged 2,376 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, bringing the country’s active cases to 37,377.

According to the DOH, the nationwide tally climbed to 2,797,986.

Of the over 37,000 active cases, 69% are mild, 5.4% are asymptomatic, 8.2% are severe, and 3.5% are in critical condition.

The DOH also announced that total recoveries climbed to 2,716,524 with 2,109 new ones while 260 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 44,085.

A total of 32 duplicate cases were also removed from the total case count while 219 cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.

Meanwhile, four laboratories failed to submit data on time.

Based on reports on November 3, the DOH said the Philippines tested a total of 44,182 individuals, of which 6.5% were found positive.

Data also showed that 43% of the total 3,900 ICU beds in the country are in use while 37% of the 1,300 ICU beds in the National Capital Region (NCR) are occupied.

Meanwhile, 27% of the 14,100 ward beds nationwide are being utilized while 27% of the 4,000 ward beds in NCR are in use.

NCR will be under Alert Level 2 from November 5, 2021 until November 21, 2021.—LDF, GMA News
