PHL officials in Brunei seek rerouting of buses near chancery

After its chancery was moved to a new location, the Philippine embassy in Brunei is making arrangements to make the facility more accessible to Filipinos.   According to a news release of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Philippine ambassador to Brunei Nestor Ochoa said this includes working with the proper authorities to alter routes so that buses can stop near the chancery. Philippine officials requested Brunei authorities to build a bus stop and waiting shed near the Embassy for commuters riding the public buses.   "This will ensure the safety of our kababayans, especially those riding the public buses, as they will avoid crossing the busy intersection at Jalan Kebangsaan," he said.   Earlier this year, the embassy was transferred to a new address at the Diplomatic Enclave.   Meanwhile, Ochoa said the second phase of the Embassy's construction, which includes the putting up of a social hall and sports hall.   He expressed optimism that the project will commence in 2012, as the plans have already been submitted to the DFA for approval. - VVP, GMA News
