More than 50 people hurt in Olongapo City bus collision

More than 50 people were injured after two buses collided head-on in Olongapo City in Zambales province Sunday morning. Both buses belonged to the Victory Liner company, radio dzBB reported early Monday. The accident occurred along the national highway in Barangay Old Cabalan. Investigators are verifying information that the Victory Liner bus headed for Pasay City from Olongapo went out of control after hitting a slippery part of the road. It then supposedly swerved into the opposite lane and crashed into the other bus headed in the opposite direction. Investigators are also verifying claims by some passengers of one of the bus that their driver was "sleepy." The drivers and conductors of both buses were among the injured, with one driver reported to be in critical condition. The bus company has promised to shoulder the medical expenses of those injured. — DVM, GMA News
