7 soldiers hurt in grenade attack in Jolo

Seven soldiers were wounded after a military truck was hit by a grenade explosion in Jolo, Sulu, early Wednesday.

The injured soldiers were identified as Sergeants Zandro Sambrano and Ferdinand Bisnar and Corporals Juanito Taguiam Jr., Arth Manatad, Arnel Pascual, Louis Limayog and Calpasi Olli.

The Jolo police said the soldiers were returning to their camp when their truck was hit by a grenade explosion near Plaza Marina along Marina Street in Barangay Walled City at around 5:20 a.m.

The authorities have yet to determine which group attacked the soldiers.

The wounded soldiers are confined at the KHTB Trauma Hospital in Jolo. —report from Peewee Bacuño/ALG, GMA News
