The "surrenderees" trooped to the Sports Complex in San Fernando City early Thursday morning as part of the government's anti-illegal drugs campaign, Oplan Tokhang.
Authorities imposed strict security measures at the venue as the groups coming from 19 towns and two cities in Pampanga were prohibited from wearing hats, shades, bringing bags, cigarettes, lighters, bladed weapons and firearms.
Pampanga Provincial Police Director Senior Supt. Rodolfo Recomono Jr. said most of the surrenderees were from Mexico, Mabalacat and San Fernando.
He added that the surrenderees are to pledge to stop using and peddling illegal drugs. — BAP, GMA News
